VELOCIRAPTOR FACTS

Velociraptor was one of the most intelligent dinosaurs. It had a big brain and was a fast hunter. Its name actually means "fast hunter."

Scientists think Velociraptor hunted in packs and worked together to trap plant-eaters.

Velociraptors were nearly two metres long and maybe two metres tall.  They probably had a type of thick fur to protect them from the cold.

The first photo above shows Velociraptor. The second shows the type of Velociraptors that may have lived in colder areas. They might have had a thick covering.

Velociraptors have been found in Asia - Russia, China and central Asia.

As well as being able to run at sixty kilometres per hour, Velociraptor had a very sharp claw on each foot which was nine centimetres long and could easily cut open its prey.
