TRICERATOPS FACTS
Triceratops gets its name because it was three horns. The word "tri" means three.
Triceratops was a really big dinosaur, and was very well protected against meat-eaters. Not many meat-eaters would have dared to attack this plant-eater!
Triceratops was about nine metres long, over two metres high and weighed up to nine tonnes.

Triceratops would have used its terrifying horns to drive off meat eaters like the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Triceratops lived in the late Cretaceous period, and probably survived right up until the dinosaurs became extinct.
