All the parts for my oil cooler except one nipple. The adapter supplied with the engine has 1/8" NPT holes and the nipples specified in the parts list were 1/4" and I did not pick this up before ordering. I had one 1/8" nipple supplied with the kit so I need to order another. The brackets I had to make and one flange on the cooler element had to be removed to clear the cowling.

I think it is going to be a very neat and reliable installation. The design is as plans although it is not included in the plans it comes as an extra sheet available on the Sonex web site.

Oil cooler mounted but not connected yet. I just have to wait for the missing nipple and terminate the oil line.

Nipple arived and installed. Not without some drama. The thread on the nipples is 1/8 inch NPT 28 tpi. BUT Jabiru in their infinate wisdom tapped the adapter out 1/8th BSP which is 27 tpi. Can you believe it! No major drama though , I ran an NPT tap into the adapter screwed the nipples in and glued them , never to be removed. They wont leak either.

All done, I wound the engine over a few times to pressurise the system and got a minor weep in one of the joints, a bit of extra tension and all OK. I love these connectors they look great , lets hope I don't get any more leaks. I am very happy with the design it fits in very neatly.

I turned the engine over again today 05-07-09 (By hand) I found I can get 50 psi oil pressure just turning over by hand. This time every joint is as dry as a bone.
