The Trim Wheel is an extra , the plans call for a lever which I don't like (They
have them in Jabirus and they rarely stay where you put them) so I splashed out for the AeroVee trim wheel. The only problem with it is there's no indicator to tell you where it is set.
I decided to go for an electrical solution. Two micro switches and a couple of LEDS. Not a continuous readout but it lets me know were the neutral position is and if it is up or down.
The neutral position with both LEDS out. Trim wheel mounted , also the throttle mounted and connected.
The next shot is the elevator control spring , this compensates for most of the elevator weight when you are stopped.
The plans called for a bungee cord , pass , I found this nice spring at Bunning's which works perfectly. The last shot is the trim tab. The Trim wheel comes with a set of springs to attach to the elevator push rod to create the trim but I decided to install the original trim tab and connect it to the trim wheel.
A slight modification.
Since I made a new throttle plate I had to fiddle with my position indicator. To save a bit of weight and effort I removed one micro switch and one LED as two
are not necessary. The single LED is on when the trim is UP from center and off when it is DOWN.
