May 18:

We're just over 7 months now and we have started giving Mom and Dad a taste of what toddlers are like!

Ready for an outing
So much has happened since the last update that Mom is sitting in front of her computer and doesn't quite know where to start!

On May 5 while crying to be fed, Cordelia uttered "Mmma-mmma" for the first time! Our parents were thrilled; we know it means "I want milk" more than "I want my Mommy".

Véronique crawling
is crawling like the best of them. She is also quite a climber, climbing on anything she comes across in her little expeditions. Whenever Véronique is in her playpen it doesn't take long for her to be standing up in there, holding on to the bars. She is also good at getting back in a sitting position, letting go one hand at a time, coming down slowly (sometimes she does try the "standing up using no hands" approach but that doesn't work as well). The day after the last update Cordelia

gave crawling a try. She made some notable progress since and she now has adopted a style of her own: little butt in the air, chest on the ground, using her forearms to pull herself forward, Mom calls her a "little sniper".

We can both sit up, we are even able to do so by ourselves,

Over Daddy's shoulder
we no longer tumble over; except sometimes when we are tired. Mom and Dad were very impressed when they realised that we could do that on our own. We sometimes play together, and when we do, we steal each other's toys or tug at the same toy, we even share sometimes. We like trying to pull each other's ears off or poking each other's eyes out ... fortunately we aren't succeeding!! We have some pretty nifty toys, two of our favourites are a plastic measuring tape and one of

Dad's belts, we discovered those by accident since we like exploring and touching everything our parents let us get our hands on. We also like our rattles and all our squishy and suckable toys.

We are making wonderful growth progress, we clocked in as follows on our 7 month anniversary: Cordelia 16 lbs 14 oz and Véronique 15 lbs 15 oz. Mom is pretty convinced that Cordelia will have Big Blue Eyes (like Dad's). The bets are still open on Véronique's eye colour.

We are both quite intrigued by the big box, full of lots of shapes and colours constantly moving! Mom sometimes sticks us in front of the television (not without a bit of guilt) when she is getting our breakfast ready. Véronique likes the Teletubbies

a lot, they are awfully cute. Cordelia's favourite TV moment is the opening theme song for Breakers, an Australian soap and the only decent thing on telly in the afternoon. She gets very animated and very excited when it comes on. Some commercials also have that effect on both of us, we sure know how to recognize a catchy tune!

We found out a while ago that we had a great-great-great-auntie (Mom's dad's great-aunt) whose name was Cordelia! Mom and Dad thought they were being original.
Happy and proud Mommy
Mother's Day
We are still looking for a Véronique up the branches of our family tree though.

Véronique is still entertaining us with her singing, she loves hearing her own voice, she'll often break into a "song" when she hears music. We both like being sung to, specially when Dad holds us on each side of him, facing a mirror jiggling us while singing to us. Dad is really good at making up lyrics about us as he goes along. We love all the attention we get from our parents.

This is it for this one. Mom is getting photos developed as we speak, so come back in a couple of days.

June 9:

June 1 was a big day for us. Véronique, who has been making all sorts of sounds, started saying Da-da-da-da-da on that day. She says it with a big huge grin, it is her favourite (and only)

thing to say these days!

Also important news for June 1: We have a cousin!!! Samuel was born on that day and we are quite thrilled! What a day!

We posted the new pics, as you can tell. We hope you enjoy them. Contrary to popular belief, Cordelia was not falling from the sofa on the photo on the right, she was simply having difficulties going from the sitting position to the crawling position. We both got so excited when we saw Mom with the camera that we just had to crawl to her; she wanted to take a picture of us sitting, we just wanted to grab her camera!
