Catalyst Textile Workshops
are run by myself and good friend, Elizabeth Morley.
Twice a year, in Perth, Western Australia, we organise a range of one
day workshops covering a range of textile disciplines. As we are both
machine embroiderers, there is a slight bias in that direction, but we
also run workshops in mixed media and other related areas, such as felting,
dying, silk paper making, paper clay and beads etc.
Workshops are programmed so
that we have a wide range of subjects suitable for the novice to the experienced.
We both teach our own styles
of work, but also employ other specialists in all fields to teach their
own subject and style.
We also bring artists from interstate to teach our students and encourage
the exchange of ideas beyond the range of Perth.

Between terms,
if you are hankering after some textile therapy, I am offering private
tuition at my studio in Fremantle.
I can provide one on one tutoring or am happy to take 2 at once (more
at a squeeze, depending on what you want to learn!)
Maybe there is a technique you'd like to master or a project you'd like
to try, but need guidance.
I am happy to do a one off session or maybe get together on a regular
basis.
I can assist with machine embroidery techniques, knitting/crochet (larger
groups possible), design, colour theory, hand stitching etc, etc
