Calligraphy Classes

I have been teaching calligraphy since 1990 to a wide range of students. These classes have included Primary Extension and Challenge (PEAC) for primary school students, Special Art for high school students, community adult education through TAFE and University of Western Australia (UWA) Extension, as well as many workshops for the Calligraphers' Guild of WA Inc. I have also taught a number of workshops in country areas. In 2004 I was invited to Melbourne by the Calligraphy Society of Victoria to teach at the Summer School In Winter calligraphy conference. As far as I know, I am one of the few calligraphers currently teaching in Perth.

Beginners and Continuing Calligraphy

My current beginners and continuing class is held on Thursday mornings from 9.30 - 11.30am at Heathcote, through Challenger TAFE. Everyone regardless of level is welcome to join the class. There are always new students and more experienced continuing students so a range of experience is always present. This class is ongoing, pending sufficient enrolment numbers. Continuing Calligraphy

My ongoing continuing class is held on Thursday afternoons from 12 noon to 2.00pm at Atwell House in Melville. This is a private class for those enthusiastic students who wish to explore more calligraphic hands and techniques. Some students have been attending this class for 9 years! Some experience is recommended. Contact me for details.

Calligraphers Guild of WA Inc

If you are interested in calligraphy, I would strongly recommend that you join the Calligraphers' Guild of WA Inc. As well as holding monthly meetings at the Mt Claremont Community Centre, we conduct workshops in calligraphy and related subjects, produce a full colour calendar and hold exhibitions of members' work.
