13th Company Grey Slayer w/Bolter

I used the colours of the Thousand Sons CSM for his scavenged arm because the Wolves and 1K Sons have never got on well, plus I have lots of blue paints to experiment with. I tried a little variation on the gold trim, Dark Flesh, followed by Brazen Brass, 50/50 BB/Shining Gold, SG highlight. It's a little darker than my previous golds and I quite like it.

Recipe:

Grey: Black Undercoat, 3-4 layers of thin Codex Grey for a nice smooth basecoat. This is highlighted with 4 or 5 layers of Codex Grey/Fortress Grey. I think I started with 6/1 CG/FG then 3/3, then I started making the slide a little subtler, so probably 2/4, 1/5 and finally straight Fortress Grey for the final highlight. Looking at the mini I think some of those are too subtle as I have to squint at the real thing to see them (and they're invisible on the photo), still that's subtlety for you...

Blue: Black Undercoat, 2-3 layers of Regal Bluebasecoat highlighted with a mix of RB/Enchanted Blue in much the same proprotions as the grey...

Gold: Black Undercoat, Dark Flesh, followed by Brazen Brass highligth then, 50/50 BB/Shining Gold and finally a SG highlight.
