Black Consuls

The Black Consuls are an Ultramarines Successor Chapter and according to Codex: Ultramarines are "well known as being the least compromising of all Chapters". Chapter colours and markings are from Insignium Astartes , they vary slightly from those presented in Codex: Ultramarines with the left hand and wrist guard being white instead of black.

I like these guys because black is easy to paint plus I had some old Dwarf shield sprues sitting around with a screaming eagle symbol that matched the Chapter markings after I removed the tongue and excess feathers. Next time I'll thin the eagle more so that it sits on the shoulder pad properly. This guy sports my first ever Green Stuff hair style, a Mohawk based on the ones I saw worn by the US Paratroopers in Band of Brothers .
