I was born in the year of our Lord 1966 in Auckland, New Zealand on the 15th day of the month of July. There were no omens (dark-aspected or otherwise : ) ) and I lived the first eleven years of my life in Auckland. Then we moved to Australia. After running around the coast from Sydney to Perth via Darwin for a year we settled in Perth. This was a lonely time for me, because we spent a lot of time moving around the suburbs and I had a hard time making friends because I was "weird" *sigh* . I didn't really fit in to any particular scene and hadn't "found my niche". I've always been very good at the technical aspects of drawing and after high school studied civil engineering at college. A year after I completed my studies I got a job working at the Main Roads W.A. ("for you 'foreigners' the W.A. bit stands for Western Australia"). I worked there for twelve loooong years until the Government in it's infinite "wisdom" offered me a "voluntary severance" (aah, the joys of economic rationalism!). In the month of May 1998 I terminated my employment with the Public Service in return for a pittance (several thousand dollars of pittance : ) ).
Meanwhile my personal life went from grey to grey over the years until my friends (those in the Goth scene) finally convinced me to go out with them in April 1997, I've never looked back (Yes I'm afraid I'm in the Goth scene, but I ain't a Goth, dammit!!! ; ) ).
OK, That was circa 1998. From then till now has been a mixture of things. I worked for just over four months for the Shire of Mundaring. I was unemployed afterwards for four months. I found this disturbing, but got a job which I was employed at doing subdivisions for close to twelve months at A.A.Wilkies. Over that period I was doing a night course in Information Technology which I technically finished (I say "Technically", because I'm still struggling to paying for the course *sigh* : ( ). Foolishly I quit my employment thinking that I could get work in the I.T. sector. It was a mistake, a bad one. A "lack" of experience in the I.T. sector and no contacts has meant no work, at least in the I.T. sector. I survived by doing Civil Drafting Contract work until Mid 2003. Now I'm working for a local Engineering Company which is about to expand as a Senior Civil Designer.
What now?Throughout my life, I've loved reading, writing and drawing so anything I do now must of necessity include those. I'll do a little writing, a lot of reading and probably find more employment as a casual/temporary. Hopefully tho', I'll get work in an I.T. situation....
Oh yeah, on the basis an employer might see all this (two chances I suspect, Buckleys/None. I see no reason for an employer to be searching the net for employees....)
