2008 Masters
The 2008 Softball Australia Masters were held over the
Easter long weekend, hosted by the Dale Districts Softball
Association in WA.
A fun-filled and competitive event for players over the age
of 35, the 2008 Softball Australia Masters saw ten men's and six
women's teams take to the diamonds at Langford Park in Thornlie,
WA, from 21-24 March. The event was extremely well run and
organised by the Dale Districts Softball Association with a
special thanks must go to all the organizers and helpers.
The men's competition saw each team play nine games over the
first three days in a single round robin, before being split
into A, B and C grades. The results of the men's competition
were as follows:
Champions: Animals
Runners-up: Dale Warriors 35's
Bronze: Wickham
Grand Final Result: Animals def Dale Warriors 35's 13-0
B Grade:
Champions: Dale Demons
Runners-up: Dale Warriors 45's
Bronze: Crusaders
Grand Final Result: Dale Demons def Dale Warriors 45's 10-0
C Grade:
Champions: Pirates/Sentinels
Runners-up: Redbacks
Bronze: Dale Dingos
4th: Kwinana Jets

The women's competition saw each team play five games over
the first two days in a single round robin, before being split
into A and B grade and then playing a round robin within each
grade followed by finals. The results of the women's competition
were as follows:
A Grade:

Bronze: Thornlie Hawks
Grand Final Result: Redbacks def Breakaways A 8-2
B Grade:
Champions: Hamersley Ranges
Runners-up: Western Spirit

At the end of each game, teams were required to give 3, 2 and
1 votes to the best players from the opposition team. Votes were
tallied at the conclusion of the event, and players with the
most votes were selected into the men's and women's All-Star
teams. The All-Star teams were as follows:
