The genres of Science Fiction and Fantasy have been gaining a reputation in Western Australia as 'worthwhile' literature. Much of the Australian SFF talent call Perth home, and the rest just wish they lived here!

Stromatolights is for the serious writer who wishes to explore SFF. We provide critique support, source and market information, occasional ego-boo and a finger on the pulse of the writer's culture, from Perth to the World.

Write lyrical fantasy? Write hard SF? Write slipstream? Whatever your angle, Stromatolights is for you. Our members enjoy a wide variety of speculative fiction.

Stromatolights charges no membership fees or tuition. (You have to provide your own double mocha lattes, though.) However, if we hold a meeting in a locale that requires an entry fee, then each member is responsible for paying for themselves. Meetings at conventions may require members to get a convention membership (cost varies). Meetings held elsewhere are usually free. Meetings at cafes or other eateries may require a small purchase for patronage.
