Those bemoaning the death of music with substance need look no further than the dreamy shores of Australia’s west coast. Where the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll meets the laidback soul of Perth, Western Australia lies the Damien Cripps Band—an honest, hardworking group built on the blood, sweat and tears of the past and the promise of tomorrow. As respected music journalist Ara Jansen duly observed: “The Perth pub rock scene would be in better shape if we all went to see bands like them regularly.”. Every week you’ll find the Damien Cripps Band working the bars in Perth, winning hearts and minds with their infectious passion and easygoing banter. Formed in 2005 by the dynamic front man who lends his name to the band, this diverse five-piece brings with them a melting pot of life experiences as well as classic and contemporary influences that bleed into their sound and into each electrifying performance. Equally at home in pubs, clubs or on festival stages, the Damien Cripps Band has supported the likes of INXS, Train, Suzi Quatro and many more. Their independently released debut single “Pictures”, featuring iconic Australian artists Erik Weideman (1927) on vocals and Robert James (GANGgajang) on guitar quickly became an enduring fan favourite, receiving airplay from radio networks both at home and internationally. Dedication to creating music that has become emotional bookmarks in people’s lives—along with a rare genuine compassion for their fellow human beings—has ensured the Damien Cripps Band a loyal following around the world. The Damien Cripps Band is more than a summer fling; it is a blossoming community united by the universal language of music, welcoming all walks of life with open arms. As we count down to the impending release of their long anticipated album, the band invites you to join them on their journey and experience for yourself the soul-soothing power of music—and what it means to be part of the Damien Cripps Band family. |
