• To promote and extend Technology Education in W.A.

• To foster the exchange of ideas between people interested in Design and Technology education on state, national and international levels.

• To act as a body representative of the teachers of Design and Technology subjects in matters of educational interest to those teachers.

• To publish or otherwise make available materials of interest and value to Design and Technology teachers.

• To support the purposes of the "Australian Council for Education though Technology" through affiliation with that body and ensure that a State Committee of ACET is maintained in WA.

• To undertake any other activities aimed at promoting technology education in the practical areas of schooling.

• To foster fellowship amongst the members of the Association.

• To provide means of professional development for members through such events as conferences, meetings, lectures, study groups and visits.
