Dattoman's Datsun 1000 Chronicles

Brakes + Suspension.

Front brakes are LJ Torana solid discs with Girlock 2 piston opposing caliper.

I have rebuilt the calipers, added braided hoses and have fitted Ferodo DS2500 pads.

Front uprights are also Torana. Steering rack is also I believe Torana. Steering arms have been bent up to keep bump steer to a minimum.

Coil over shocks seem to be from some motorcycle of unknown brand and spec. Fabricated upper and lower arms are used.

Rear brakes are Commodore calipers (VB-VS non IRS). Discs are Pintara / Skyline R31 rears.

Once again braided hoses and Formula Ferodo (TS2000) brake pads.

This is the rear axle flange showing brake caliper mount.

As you can see the caliper sits a fair way inboard in relation to the wheel. This is mainly due to the -19 offset on the wheels.

Rear suspension is 3 link design with 2 lower and 1 upper arm. Panhard rod and sway bar are also used.

Coil overs appear to be Jaguar rear XJ6 style.

I am currently running 185 60 13 A032 Yokahama tyres for this first season.
