Lets Race !!!

Well the car finally got together and we are now playing with it in the 2005 AMR Speed event series.

First event was a twilight short track blast at Barbagello raceway.

We had some minor teething problems on the day. I lost a bolt out of the shifter linkage. A tip.... lockwire everything !!

Last lap of the day we managed to pop a head gasket.

Putting it on the trailer we didn't line it up properly and ripped the passengers side flare but it was an easy repair so that's done.

Unfortunately though when the head gasket came off we had more problems tan we expected. seems the engine builder had fitted the wrong valve stem seals.

He'd also installed them incorrectly and subsequently we had 2 broken valve guides.

Not to mention the other 6 that were oversized to start with. We replaced all guides , faced head , reseated all the valves and put it all back together.

Second play in the car was Round 2 of AMR Speed Series.

This time we were running a hillclimb at Wungong Dam.

We have developed some blowby issues and will need to do some more engine research before the next round .

Next round was scheduled to be Collie Powerhouse sprint but the track is being resurfaced. So we have to wait 2 months for Albany Hillclimb
