Road: Belvès is on the D710 Périgueux-Fumel road. Detailed directions and maps for getting to Belvès by road from anywhere in Europe are available from the Mappy website, which also provides an indicative cost of petrol and tolls.
Rail: Belvès is on the Périgueux - Agen line. You can check timetables and make reservations on the SNCF website; more detailed maps are available on the TER-SNCF Aquitaine site (in French). The apartments are about a kilometre from the station (up hill, a strenuous walk). There is a local taxi service that has to be booked in advance (let us know if you want contact details).
Air: The closest airport is at Bergerac (with flights from the UK by Ryanair and Flybe) which is 54 km or approximately an hour away by car. You can rent a car at the airport or, if you prefer, we can make arrangements to have you picked up at the airport. There are bigger airports with more flights at Toulouse (180 km) and Bordeaux (190 km).
Getting around
We recommend that you hire a car for getting around the region. If you have not already arranged transport, the local service station has a car hire facility or you can take a train to Sarlat and hire a car there. If you are planning a more extended stay, it may be more economical to lease a car.
