This web page is where the Royal Forest of Dean Family History Society originally hosted their Website

The society no longer exists and all material they had was given to the Gloucestershire FHS who have since developed a Forest of Dean branch.

Since the Royal Forest of Dean FHS disbanded I have always kept a Website covering Family History of the Forest of Dean

Forest of Dean Family History Pages
http://www.forest-of-dean.net/

We hope you come and visit us to read, share and make new connections with other Forest of Dean researchers with the help of the resources that we make available.

Have a good day!

Below is the 1997 home page of the society which I have put back for nostalgic purposes

Ruth's Story
A fascinating insight into the hard times she and her family endured -
particularly in their younger years. It seems incredible now that less
than 100 years ago men would WALK 100 miles or more to find work!
