The
West Australian Oldies' Climbing Group Some Old Boot Nailing Methods |
|
Long before 'PAs'
and the modern 'Sticky' climbing bootees were invented and developed,
rock climbers used very heavy leather boots with special 'nails' fitted
to
the soles and heels. Most of the Oldies began their climbing careers
wearing boots fitted with these 'nails' and this is where you can find
out a little about the 'nails' and the configurations used.
