Rockbox

Welcome back!

This page has stuff to do with the rockbox firmware. 
What is rockbox?
Well rockbox is a complete firmware replacement for mp3 players including: 

•  Archos: Jukebox 5000, 6000, Studio, Recorder, FM Recorder, Recorder V2 and Ondio
  
•  iriver: H100, H300 and H10 series
  
•  Apple: iPod 4th gen (grayscale and color), 5th/5.5th gen (Video - 30GB and 60GB models only), 1st gen Nano and Mini 1st/2nd gen (Nano 2nd gen and 80GB Video 5.5th gen are not supported)
  
•  iAudio: X5 (including X5V and X5L), M5 (including M5L)
  
•  Toshiba: Gigabeat X and F series (the S model is not supported)
  
•  SanDisk: Sansa E200 series (the R models are not supportet

Since I am blind one of the great things about rockbox is that menus can talk as well as folder and file names.

How to get rockbox to talk

Including voicing the menus and spelling or numbering file and folder names. 

Voicebox SAPI4

Instructions on how to setup and use the voicebox SAPI4 voicebox script.
This script is used to make .talk files so rockbox will voice your file and folder names as words.
With a SAPI4 voice. 

Voicebox SAPI5.

This script does the same as the SAPI4 script but uses a SAPI5 voice instead of a SAPI4 voice. 

How to build your own English.voice file.

The English.voice  file is Used to voice menus and spell or number file and folder names.
But once you have the voice clips from voicebox your folder and file names will speak as words.
