It started out as a game to get Adam into Richmond High. They thought that if they pretended to be together, that their parents would be happy, and in turn would grant Adam his transfer so that he could be closer to Lara. It seemingly backfired when the two discovered that their own feelings were not as platonic as they first thought. What has been a long term friendship has now blossomed into a relationship, one that they are having to keep from their friends, as Lara's brother Jacob will not be happy to find out that his best friend has gone and hooked up with his sister.
