Dee Jaeger’s ceramic sculptures and forms are now available through private commission.
Dee works closely with clients or their designer to create original, one-of-a-kind ceramic artworks for interior and exterior spaces.
“I enjoy the challenge of interpreting and developing a client’s vision for their living or working environment. It is very satisfying to design and install one of my own pieces in a clients home, office or garden, knowing that it will make a lasting contribution to the ambience of that space.”
An original, hand-built sculpture can act in a number of ways to enhance a particular site or space. It could solve the problem of what to do with a difficult to furnish corner of a room or courtyard. An outstanding art piece can be a focal or talking point for friends, visitors and clients. A specifically designed artwork can also effect a highly personal statement about a space or the inhabitants of that space.
Examples of commissioned works for INTERIOR SPACES:
v a series of small eye-catching objects placed in wall recesses
v a quirky figurative piece to enliven a lack-lustre corner of a room
v a bold statement piece for the entrance or foyer of a house or business
v a personal, expressive work for the bedroom or entertainment area.
Examples of commissioned works for EXTERIOR SPACES: :
v Courtyards: planters, screening devices, hanging objects, water basins
v Small balconies: wall planters, decorative ledges and plaques
v The garden: water features, abstract or figurative sculptures, milestones, basins
Dee can provide fresh and innovative ideas for clients wishing to create their own personal statement for a new or existing home, office, courtyard or garden.

1. INITIAL CONSULTATION
The first step is to meet and discuss the clients needs. This can be done either at the Artist’s studio, the client’s home or designer’s office. We discuss the concept, the “look” of the sculpture, the intended location, installation factors, and any other requirements.
2. WORKING SKETCH & QUOTE
The artist produces a working sketch for the client’s approval. Changes and adjustments can be made. A quote is provided.
3. CONTRACT & SITE VISIT
If the quote and design are accepted, both parties sign a contract and a deposit is paid. A site visit is made, particularly necessary if the work is to be designed and installed in an outdoor environment. A site visit may be necessary before the quote is submitted.
4. MAQUETTE (usually only applies for large scale works)
Often a small model or maquette is made to give the client a better idea of what the finished work will look like and if any special internal structures are needed for installation purposes. Minor changes and adjustments can still be made to the design at this stage.
5. PRODUCTION
This is when the production of the full-scale work begins in earnest. Depending on the scale and intricacy of the sculpture, production may take from several weeks to months. These and other factors are outlined in the contract.
6. INSTALLATION
Delivery of the work to the client’s home or installation site. For smaller works, installation is usually only a matter of safe delivery. If the work is over a metre tall it is sometimes necessary to insert an internal support and provide weight at the base to ensure stability. If the work is located in the outdoors or is exposed to harsh climatic conditions, special installation requirements may be necessary. These will be outlined in the contract.
7. MAINTAINANCE
The Artist offers a follow up maintenance service for most works if required. A fee per hour is charged.
