Aiki-Kai Australia

Aiki-Kai Australia was founded in 1965 by S. Sugano Shihan and recently celebrated its 40th anniversary. Sugano Sensei continues today as the World Aikido Headquarters (Hombu) Representative in Australia. The Association has representatives in all States and Territories.

Aiki-Kai Australia is the accredited authority for Aikido in Australia under the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme, which is endorsed by the Federal and State Departments of Sport & Recreation. Please visit the Aiki-Kai Australia website for more information.

Established in 1982, Aikido WA is the Western Australian branch of Aiki-Kai Australia. Hugh Derham Sensei (6th Dan) is the official WA representative. For a video interview with Hugh Derham Sensei, please click here

We have dojos in the Perth metropolitan area, as well as Albany in the south west of the State, and Broome in the north west.
