Comments of Mrs Julie-Anne Bald (Tasmania)




Thank you to all the Committee and members for inviting me to judge. I enjoyed my appointment and was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the breed. The presentation was extremely good. THANK YOU ALL - regards Julie-anne


Intermediate Dog:
1st - Has a strong head with well shaped eyes and good colour. Bone is good with correct feet, good angulation in hindquarters. Movement was good holding a firm topline.

State Bred Dog:
1st - Good head, with a correct bite. Eye shape and colour good. Strong bone with a good front and correct feet. Lovely on the move. Top line very good and firm on the move. Well presented.

2nd - Good head, with reverse scissor bite. Eye shape and colour correct. Very good front strong bone, feet good. Movement correct holding a good topline.

Australian Bred Dog:
1st - Good head with reverse scissor bite. Eyes very dark and well shaped. Good bone slightly weak in pastern. A slight rise in topline in the hindquarter. Would like more angulation in the hindquarter. Excellent rich coat colour.

Open Dog:
1st - Smooth dog with a well proportioned and pleasant head and correct bite. Markings and coat very good . Correct dark eyes with good shape. Strong firm front with excellent feet. Very firm topline with correct tail set and a good turn of stifle . Very pleasing and sound on the move. Good breed type.

2nd - Rough coat with sufficient head at 2 ½ years, reverse scissor bite. A good dark eye and shape. Strong bone with correct feet. Front a bit underdeveloped at this age. Good angulation in the hindquarters. Movement very pleasing. Top line could be stronger.


Puppy Bitch:
1st - Head at this age is correct with a good bite. Eye colour and shape good with good pigment. Bone good front needs to develop yet, feet were good. Slight rise in topline as you would expect at this age. Lots more growing to do yet. Well presented.

Junior Bitch:
1st - Excellent head and bite at this age. Eyes very dark with good shape. Very strong bone with an excellent front and very tight firm feet. Top line very firm throughout. Very good tail set. Hindquarters strong and well angulated. Moved with little effort and held a strong firm topline all the way. Excellent type.

Intermediate Bitch:
1st - Smooth bitch with a very strong and pleasant head. Correct bite. Excellent dark eye and shape. Very neat firm feet. Good front with a very firm shoulder. Good bone. Very good turn of stifle with a good firm topline. Moved with ease. Good type.

State Bred Bitch:
1st - Very nice young smooth bitch with a pleasing head and correct bite. Very good dark eye and shape. Good strong bone and tight firm feet. Strong chest with a good spring of rib. Topline a little soft. Good angulation in the hindquarters. Moved very well. Good Type.

Australian Bred Bitch:
1st - Head sufficient (but for me I would like a bit stronger). Eye shape and colour very good. Very deep and good strong chest. Shoulders very firm and strong with good bone. Feet correct. Good turn of stifle. Topline slightly weak (could be due to being slightly over weight. Extremely good rich coat colour and very well presented.

Open Bitch:
1st - Head is sufficient on this smooth bitch (but for me I would like a bit stronger head) slight lack in muzzle. Bite correct. Very good dark eye with correct shape. Very deep strong chest. Very firm shoulder. Strong bone with correct feet. Good turn of stifle. Correct movement. Top line slightly weak (could be due to slight over weight). Well presented.
