Judge Profile

To provide you with a brief background about myself, I live with my husband Darryl on 3.5 acres in the Swan Valley, which we refer to as “our little slice of heaven with a small number of Dobermanns. I grew up with German Shepherds here in WA and purchased my first Dobermann approximately twenty years ago. My introduction to showing was fifteen years ago with Rhodesian Ridgebacks. However I soon realised that I preferred the temperament and energy levels of the Dobermann and it became obvious that they, as a breed, were more suitable to my requirements as a companion and show dog.Since then Bravadobe Dobermanns has gone on to become the home of Grand Champions, Multi Best in Show and Best in Specialty award winning Dobermanns. They are now competitively shown and trialled around the country and over seas with a great amount of success.

Our foundation bitch, Grand Champion Tornadobe Ruby Tuesday CD ROM was the top show bitch for WA in 1997, 1998 and 2000, as well as being awarded the prestigious award of Dobermann Club of WA Inc (DCWA) Dobermann of the Year in 1998. Chilli is a multi Best in Show and Best in Specialty Show winner and is also the only Grand Champion Dobermann bitch in WA, as well as the first brown and tan bitch in Australia to obtain such a title. Chilli obtained her CD in three straight trials and as a result was awarded the prestigious NDCA Register of Merit. She was retired from the show ring at four years of age but still plays a significant role at home in the overseeing of puppies and welcoming of potential puppy buyers. Our dogs have represented the breed at such competitions as the WA Contest of Winners, Ultimate Utility Competition and the Top 20 Competition at the last Dobermann National. To date we have breed and/or campaigned ten Dobermanns to their championship title, including two grand champions, passed three working aptitude evaluations (which only happens every couple of years), obtained four CDs and completed one ET. I have also assisted other breeders in the campaigning of their Dobermanns to their championship titles as well. We are actively involved in temperament evaluations and genetic health testing of our beloved breed and I currently hold the position of Senior Vice President with the Dobermann Club of WA. I have also handled on more than one occasion Akitas, Boxers, Rottweilers, Schnauzers, Samoyeds, German Shorthaired Pointers, Pointers, Great Danes and Miniature Pinschers.
