I work part-time as a contract programmer in the computing industry. I currently work for
Fundi Software.
I have many interests, and a couple of obsessions.
Have a browse around to find out about them:

Yes, Queen is my favourite band. Queen is Brian May, John Deacon, Roger Taylor and the late, great Freddie Mercury. If you are running a recent browser, you should be hearing a midi version of Keep Yourself Alive, from the album Queen (aka Queen I). The picture to the right is circa 1985, and is an updated version of the classic Queen pose from the album Queen II (1974) and also the Bohemian Rhapsody video clip. Below are my photo's of Brian May LIVE in Perth in November 1998. What a concert - it was a great show even though the venue was not to my taste. Yes! I was right at the front and had my hand slapped by the man himself. It was lovely to be so close and watch him play the Red Special. I even accidentally touched his shoes when he put a foot on the speaker I was leaning on! I hope I don't have to wait another 22 1/2 years for the next show. |

I have collected many links to Queen sites during my travels around the net. If any of these links fail, or if you have any new ones to add, please email me. Here are just some of the many great Queen sites around the web.
Dungeons and Dragons and Advanced Dungeons and Dragons are fantasy role playing games created by TSR Inc (now Wizards of the Coast). I play the advanced version of this game, but the two versions are very similar. This discussion is about the advanced version of the game, although most is applicable to the 'basic' version also. Ignore the bad press you may have heard about this game, there is nothing wrong with it! I have been playing this game for about 20 years, and I still love it!
Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is not a board game but involves pencil, paper, dice and lots of imagination. The game is set in medieval times (knights, wizards, dragons, etc). The playing pieces in this game are called characters. Each character is individually created by:
Characters will go adventuring in a town, forest, dungeon or other area to explore or complete a quest. This area is defined by the Dungeon Master, who tells the characters what they can see and controls the traps and monsters they may discover. Of course this sounds easy, but players need to solve puzzles, and describe their characters' actions to avoid traps, etc. Combat with monsters and other evil beings is resolved with various shaped dice, also game spells and player initiative.
I would like to introduce you to some of my favourite characters.
ilcha the Underhanded is a halfling (hobbitt) thief.
Filcha is particularly fond of things of value - gold, platinum, gems and interesting magical items.
She can't keep her little fingers off these things! She is easily recognised by the $ signs in her eyes and her
eager fingers! Filcha has adventured with many characters, but Glendell Friend-Fryer is her usual accomplice when
there's a sneaky task to be performed. Glendell was given the latter part of her name after an accident with her Fireball spell.
When going incognito, Filcha often uses the name 'Rosie'.
horoweeydtil of the Forest, a human ranger.
Weeyd was bought up by the Ents and it is his life-long mission to find the Entwives.
However, he is often led into other adventures by his party.
Weeyd has a particular dislike for things undead, 'unearthly' as he call them.
He tries to rid the world of as many of them as possible.
alinta is a rather erratic mage and priestess.
She likes to call herself Lady Palinta, but nobody else has caught on yet.
Palinta's favourite weapon is without doubt her Wand of Wonder.
It suits her temperament exactly!
She has recently acquired a second one, so she shouldn't run out of surprises for a while.
Palinta worships the Godess Selune.
aldwin the Purposeful became a Paladin rather late in life.
Baldwin was just your average mercenary BTF (big tough fighter) until he found a Paladin King's
girdle and Holy Avenger sword.
Well, you guessed it, the sword was a bit brighter than he, so Baldwin drifted to Lawful Good.
He found all this a bit uncomfortable at first but has settled into it well.
He does occasionally have a bit of trouble with the rest of his party - who are still very mercenary-minded.
Baldwin has managed not to let his new found goodness stop him from enjoying killing things.
ujob Broccoli is not a vegetarian plumber but a male elven fighter/thief.
Lujob adventures with Baldwin, Ophelia (mage/priestess) and the monk Scrent Bimted.
Lujob is very good at disguise, and being an elf often travels as a young boy or sometimes a woman.
This has led to rumours that he is in fact a cross-dresser and enjoys wearing women's clothing.
He enjoys picking pockets, a good sword-fight and gaming (as long as he can 'adjust' the odds).
Lujob also has some more refined interests - etiquette and dancing.
On a recent adventure he added the Ethnic Dwarven Stomp to his repertoire of dances.
