PROJECTS
The suburban residential form takes many guises, all crafted to their owners' needs

Hexagon House Extension, Quinns Rocks

The ceiling rises to a hexagon shape with windows on three sides to fully exploit sea views, maintaining the energy balance with photovoltaic cells and a rooftop ventilator tower.

Samurai House, Hillarys

A new upper floor is integrated with the existing house by means of a sloping roof that opens up a two storey 'buffer' space on the western side. The design retains a central court and opens family areas to a park on the east and to a swimming pool to the north

Wave House, Sorrento

A new house taking full advantage of its site with a sheltered poolside area and upper floor outlook below flowing roofs. Lower level descends the site slope forming a base for the main private terraces

Outlook Extension, Sorrento

A new front for an aging two storey brick unit enhances sea views with a curved balcony. The house was rendered to update the look and adjust proportions of openings in the front elevation

Federation House, Hillarys

An invisible extension: the existing bay window provided the key for adding two bedrooms and a balcony in a new upper floor. The new work is in matching brick and looks as if it has always been there.

Golf House, Connolly

The grand site overlooking the golf course demanded a grand response. So the stone faced two storey house extends along the open boundary, grading from public at the front to private around the pool in the rear corner. It has civic scale towards the course with a grand sweep of columns but descends to single storey at the front to be a good neighbour.

Venice Villa, Trigg

Clients with a strong image of the house they wanted gave this seafront house its presence. It is centralised, with a grand staircase leading to the main living rooms upstairs, and sea view dining space and loggia. Construction uses traditional craft skills and fine materials; marble, granite and stucco.
