It is a truism that teachers
learn from their students, but the statement is nonetheless
true. I have been honoured to be invited to teach at Curtin
University in 1998 and more recently at UWA, the University
of Western Australia. This was at the invitation of Ali Mozaffari
who put together the studio programme that we have together
described as 'The Haptic Design Studio' in Writings.
The following elements
come from our discussions in the course of reviewing the studio
and include students' statements on their activities. The studio
exercises are illustrated on the accompanying page.
