The bellringers of St. David's Cathedral, Hobart, have installed four additional bells, including one exceeding a tonne in weight, in the Cathedral's magnificent tower.

The new bells augment the existing fine set of eight bells dating from the 1930s, giving St. David's a grander, more cathedral-like sound befitting its status and location in the city.

The new bells were rung for the first time on 15th May 2005. Some other aspects of the project have yet to be completed.
