Using block and tackle to hoist cap. Large diameter cap suggests weak ground or wide opening. Left hand side may show end of stye used to support section already mined out.

Bar & Arm Rock Drill. Drill steels at side (points to the ground). Probably making a tunnel. Conditions would be very noisy. Lots of holes are drilled, set with explosives, then bang!
