Origin
Padraig created the idea of Nimheil as a means to give sonic shape to the ideas that he was creating in his fictional writing, and seeing in nightly dreams. The resulting sound that came from this expression of writing is best described as 'industrialized dark ambient littered with fragments of noise'.
For the matter of course, Nimheil is pronounce 'neev-ayl'. Its Gaidhlig word.
Internal Efforts
Padraig, via Nimheil is working releasing an EP soon (before the end of 2004) as a hand crafted CDR release to prelude the release of the pre-titled album 'Entropic Ramblings' which will ideally be done by end-of-year 2004 or early 2005.
There is work to add more people to the line up for Nimheil to add vocal variety, and increase the sonic range, in turn providing a more successful project for a stage presence at some stage.
External Efforts
Recently Nimheil has created a remix for a melbourne based Industrial / EBM band called Fate Aeffect, to be released soon on multi-remix single to be a pre-release to their soon to be released album.
Nimheil is also in discussion with one or two other bands to produce remixes of their work for release on up coming albums and singles.
A number of tracks have been written for a Various Artists album that is being collated by Random Insults (USA) to be released on Statue Records based around the theme of mental illness. Additionally a number of tracks have been submitted and accepted for release on some privately-funded CDR label releases.
