Defused Fusion - Blasted Beats

Just a quick review / thoughts.

This disc was sent to me about a month back. Listened to it when it arrived and loved it. And now I am listening to it again to get a better feel of the material on it.

First the aesthetics of the disc that arrived. Damn it is sexy. Blackfaced CDR, with a black label surface with minimalistic labeling. I feel this gives the whole thing a very mechanic feel to it, which is reflected in the artwork in the sleave.

Liner notes say the art is by Tixeon, and I will honestly say its very very well done. Plenty of metalic and rusted textured surfaces, all overlayed with a rotting purple colour tone which darkens the tone of the art in a good way.

Part one is very heavy. Dominating beats, with a good mix of obscure samples (quite a few I recognise) with plenty of noise mixed in. Definately sits with the stated philosophy of the label to bring Power Noise / Industrial to the people. Thankfully there doesn't appear to be any of the trend towards EBM on this disc.

Part two is harsher, dropping down the heavy beats in favour of harsher noise sounds and more complex arrangements of the audio.

All in all, a disc to get and a label to follow and support.
