WHAT DO THOSE IN THE INDUSTRY HAVE TO SAY?

I haven't gotten to reach the entire book but so far it's fantastic. It looks like a lot of work has gone into it.

A very professional looking publication.

We received your wonderful book. You provided a fabulous resource that was badly needed. We liked it so much that we will be giving a copy away as a promotion to someone that visits our site between now and November. I think it is a positive resource to all home exchangers. We wish more potential exchangers had access to it. We went through it thoroughly over the past few days. An excellent resource that we like a lot.

I just received your book yesterday and find it to be terrific. I particularly like the little cartoons and illustrations. It is really well laid out and clear in terms of presentation of subjects. I am thrilled to have it. Congratulations on its publication!

We have just received your book. It looks great, and the title is so catching I am sure you are doing very well with it.

Most interesting.

Jenny Wood, Latitudes, Qld, 1 Aug 02

Jackie Hair has recently published a book on how to swap your home and enjoy free holiday accommodation worldwide, using her vast experience and knowledge as a founder of Latitudes Home Exchange.

The book is called, "Who’s been sleeping in my bed?". She has kindly sent me a copy all the way from Australia, and I thought that Vavo members who visit my Holiday Swap and Let forum, might be just the type of people who would be interested to read what I thought of it.

My family and I have enjoyed many home exchange holidays in the past and thinking back to when we arranged our first exchange with a couple in Florida, this book would have been indispensable for us and I would have gladly bought it, had it been available then, to learn the best way to go about things and read the many stories of actual exchanges that Jackie has included within.

It is written in an easily digestible way- you could read it cover to cover, although I would favour reading through the introduction and then looking through the contents and reading the relevant chapters which apply as you begin to ask yourself the same questions that Jackie has obviously already thought, and answered within her book.

Help and advice are clearly given for such things as describing your home and area, whether to join a Homeswap organization, writing an introduction letter, preparing your home for your guests, to name just a few.  The book also offers sample letters and forms to use, resources to Homeswap organizations and a disabled travellers section.

To quote from her book, "Jackie and Bruce found virtually no literature to assist new members in successfully arranging and executing a home exchange.Only one book could be found on the subject and this appeared to be directed solely towards American audiences.  This guidebook gives you as much information as possible and should help you to avoid overwhelming and daunting situations.
