LOCATION
Island of Negros and smaller islands in the Visayan Sea, Philippines.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
The leaves are 15 to 25cm long and 4cm wide, tessellated but devoid of purple pigmentation on the lower surface.

FLOWER DESCRIPTION
INFLORESCENCE
Pubescent stem bears a solitary flower at a  height of 25cm.
DORSAL SEPAL
Is ovate and its colour is white flushed with pink basally. Parallel purple veins of unequal length transverse the dorsal stopping short to give a narrow  margin  of white.
VENTRAL SEPAL
Is considerably smaller and bicarinate. Background colour white, blushed with purple and veined with purple and green.
PETALS
Oblanceolate  to subspathulate in shape and held nearly horizontal with recurved shortly acute apices. Petal margins are slightly undulate. Colour is pale greenish white basally changing to rich pinkish rose at mid-lenght. Dark green veins and sparse purple dots extend from the base almost to the apex.
LABELLUM
Is olive green  to white with a flush of bronze on the front surface.

LOCATION
Found on slopes at elevations of 1,250 - 1,350 m rooted loosely in humus on Mindanao in the Philippines.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
Green leaves 25cm long and 4cm wide.

FLOWER DESCRIPTION
INFLORESCENCE
2 - 3 flowers on an arching spray of 20 - 30 cm.
DORSAL SEPAL
Greenish yellow or cream background overlaid with  maroon stripes. Ovate and acuminate.
VENTRAL SEPAL
Similiar to dorsal but slightly larger.
PETALS
Slender and tapered petals are pendulous. Marked basally with  small crimson blotches which merge into about 4 narrow striations which   extend to the tips. Upper margins undulate and ciliate.
LABELLUM
Pale cream or yellow beneath, suffused and veined with  maroon frontly.

LOCATION
Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Hainon Island in China. Grows in humus at elevations of 600 - 700 m.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
Leaves are tessellated above with purple spots or streaks beneath , 8 - 25cm in length.

FLOWER DESCRIPTION
INFLORESCENCE
Usually unifloral reaching a height of 20 - 50cm.
DORSAL SEPAL
Ovate but strongly reflexed basally. The acute apex bends  sharply forward. Background white veined dark green, frequently suffused  overall with palest green or basally with pink.
VENTRAL SEPAL
Elliptic to lanceolate with similiar markings to those of  the dorsal.
PETALS
Held horizontly and spatulate in shape. Twisted with undulated  upper margins. Green basally, with blackish green stripes and dark maroon  spots widening and turning to a rich pink.
LABELLUM
Elongated and tan in colour, flushed with pink or lavender.

LOCATION
Grows in moss at the base of trees or in deep humus in bamboo thickets on the east and west slopes at elevations of 800 - 2,500 m in Luzon, Philippines.
 
PLANT DESCRIPTION
Tessellated leaves with  purple beneath, 10 - 25 cm in length by 2.5 - 5 cm in width.

FLOWER DESCRIPTION
INFLORESCENCE
Single flowers on a peduncle to 45 cm tall.
DORSAL SEPAL
Ovate with an acute apex that recurves slightly. Background  colour is white with green stripes and purple spots at base.
VENTRAL SEPAL
Elliptic and is greenish white striped with darker green.
PETALS
Arch downward and backward. Background is white with green  veins merging to maroon on the distal third with a pink blush. Entire petal  surface covered with blackish purple spots and warts.
LABELLUM
Green veined underside and flushed with rosy brown above.

LOCATION
Found on limestone hills near streams in Yunnan Province, China.
 
 PLANT DESCRIPTION
Growths spaced up to 15cm apart on a rambling rhizome. 5-7 boldly tessellated leaves measuring 6 - 12 cm long by 2 - 2.5 cm wide. The lower surface of the leaves are densely mottled with purple.

FLOWER DESCRIPTION
INFLOREsceNCE
A solitary large flower stands 24- 25 cm tall.
DORSAL SEPAL
Ovate and acute. Yellow in colour.
VENTRAL SEPAL
Smaller, ovate and acute. It is doubled keeled yellow.
PETALS
Ovate to subcircular. Petals are pubescent and bares a sparse spotting of maroon at the base.
LABELLUM
Ovate. Texture is thin and translucent and bears purple spotting on involute margins.

FLOWERING SEASON
Summer - Autumn.
