LOCATION
The species has a widespread range in mainland Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. Variety sublaeve is found in northwest Malaya and in peninsular Thailand.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
The leaves are tessellated above and marked to varying degree with purple pigmentation beneath. The dimesions are 10 - 20cm in length and 3.5cm - 5cm in width.

FLOWER DESCRIPTION
INFLORESCENCE
Typically a single flower and bifloral scapes are considered  rare. The peduncle is erect and stands 45cm in height.
DORSAL SEPAL
White flushed purple with veins of unequal length merge  from green to purple as they extend upwards. A band of pink suffusion  underlines the purple veined mid-region of the dorsal sepal.
VENTRAL SEPAL
Narrow cupped projecting forward and striped with  green and purple veining.
PETALS
Reflexed and wide, bent downwards at an acute angle. They are  cream to yellow green proximally, with rosy purple suffusion upon their  distal third. Colour is richer above the mid-vein than below. Maroon  spotting and hairs adorn the  petals margins, The regions below the  mid-vein is striped by green veins.
LABELLUM
Elongate. It is green in colour with mauve or rose overlaying  the green frontally.

LOCATION
Grows at elevations of 1,200 - 1,700 m clinging to rocks and trapping detritus, in bright shade in Burma and India..

PLANT DESCRIPTION
Green leaves are slender and marked with purple spotting beneath. 12 -15cm long by 2  - 2.5 cm wide.

FLOWER DESCRIPTION
INFLORESCENCE
Solitary flower up to a height of 15cm.
DORSAL SEPAL
Colour is pink with deeper pink venation. The margins  pale to white with soft pink veins and reflex to some degree basally.
VENTRAL SEPAL
Considerably narrower, elliptic and acute. Colour is pale  green veined with ochre.
PETALS
Spatulate petals are pale yellowish green, veined with reticular  patterns in ochre. Held horizontly and curve forward.
LABELLUM
Ochre flushed with pink and veined with brown. Inner surface  is hirsute and orifice is large.

LOCATION
Grows in tussocks of moss and detritus on wooded slopes at elevations of
300 - 2,000 m in the Philippines.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
Leaf length is 15cm, width 2.5 - 5cm. Boldly tessellated leaves with purple pigmentation underneath.

FLOWER DESCRIPTION
INFLORESCENCE
Single flower on a peduncle of 30cm.
DORSAL SEPAL
Broadly ovate and apically acute. Rosy white with purple  veins which fade to pale green near a white margin.
VENTRAL SEPAL
Elliptic and narrower than the dorsal. Colour white,  marked with green veins.
PETALS
Strap shaped and held well down from horizantal, arch slightly and  recurve at the apices. Purple veins on a creamy pink background. Blackish   maroon spots and warts adorn the proximal two-thirds of the petals.
LABELLUM
Veined with mahogany over rich maroon brown.

Late Spring to early Summer.

Grows as lithophyte or terrestrial on coastal limestone cliffs in Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and China.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
4 - 6 tessellated leaves with purple spotting underneath. Leaf length of 14cm and width up to 4cm.

FLOWER DESCRIPTION
INFLORESCENCE
Bears 1-2 flowers, rarely 3 at a height of up to 8cm.
DORSAL SEPAL
Broadly obovate. Cream to pale yellow, lightly spotted with purple and tinged with light green. Apex hooded.
VENTRAL SEPAL
Ovate to subcircular and slightly shorter and narrower  than the dorsal. Spotted only on the basal half.
PETALS
Broad and concave, ovate to elliptic, rounded at the apices. Same  colour and marking as the dorsal.
LABELLUM
Egg-shaped, narrowly inflated. Some colour as other segments  but with finer and more sparse spotting.

Summer and Autumn.
