 LOCATION
Clings to steep, calcareous cliffs of river valleys at elevations of 1400 - 2200 m in Northern India.

PLANT DESCRIPTION
Leaves are usually pale green. 15 cm long and 2cm wide with a slight serration at the tip.

FLOWER DESCRIPTION
INFLORESCENCE
Solitary flower on a 12 - 45 cm peduncle.
DORSAL SEPAL
White with vertical green and purple veins which are criss-crossed with subdued reticular venation in the same two colours. Margins are undulate. Elliptic in shape.
VENTRAL SEPAL
Ovate and veined with green and purple.
PETALS
Go downwards but for the distal third of their length they curve up and back. Parallel veins of purple and green with purple margins which are undulate and ciliate.
LABELLUM
Khaki or olive green with darker venation.

FLOWERING SEASON
Late Autumn to mid Winter.
