Yes, it's the first weekend in January and time to bring out
your oldest bike for a short ride to Youngs Siding and back to
Emu Point for lunch. Unfortunately the weather didn’t look too
good to start off with, and it obviously put a lot of members
off who do not wish their oldest bike to be the wettest.
But as it
turned out the rain didn’t eventuate to much and the ride was
held in good conditions, although a bit cooler than usual, the
bikes appreciated it.
It was good to see Glen Oliver arrive on his Indian from the
Gnowangerup area, and with Ronnie on his Indian they made a
handsome couple!
Off we went with Steve and Yvonne following with the trailer.
Which once again came into use, this time the unfortunate victim
was Mike who is still sorting out the gremlins in the lovely
little Honda, which decided to blow a head gasket.
Ronnie’s brother was riding too, so it was an international
ride, as he and his family are visiting from Friesland in
Holland.
After socialising for a while at Youngs Siding it was time to
head back to Albany, a very pleasant ride.
The weather was still not the best and I was surprised anyone
turned up at Emu Point, but half a dozen or so brave souls
arrived to meet Lurline who was waiting with Phil’s lunch.
We spent an enjoyable hour there before heading for home. Thanks to everyone who turned up and especially Steve and Yvonne for doing back-up duties (at short notice).

Two Indians: Ronnie and Glen.
Mike's
Honda is getting to know the trailer.

Mark and Kawasaki 750.

Kim dressed in black (Honda).

Ian with a more brightly-coloured Honda.

Not everyone was solo - Andrew and Wendy on the 250 BMW.

Warwick on his new/old GS650 BMW.
