REIKIMy Blog

Reiki is widely used by people all over the world for relaxation and healing.

Most people know that Reiki comes from Japan. The picture on the left is of Dr Usui, the person who discovered Reiki and brought it to the world.

The ideogram above represent the words Rei-Ki in the new Japanese style.

Reiki consultations can often be arranged within a few days of request. Training courses will depend on my current schedule.

Your Reiki Consultation

Reiki is a ‘hands-on’ form of healing that is often given with the client laying fully clothed on a massage table. Unlike massage however the hands are not moved over the body in flowing motions, but rather laid on the body in stillness.

The hands are used to transfer energy from the practitioner to the client. The practitioner receiving the energy from outside of them self. This energy is them passed to the client in such a way that they can then use it for whatever is the greatest need within their own body.

It is a bit hard to describe exactly what is experienced when one receives Reiki, it can vary on each occasion and also from person to person. But generally the client leaves feeling relaxed and often some aches and pains that were felt earlier may have eased or disappeared. During the session there may be a sensation of heat from the hands of the practitioner.

A full Reiki session will last about an hour. For deep seated issues or conditions it may be necessary to have several sessions.

Training &
Learning Reiki

author

Many people learn how to give Reiki, by becoming a Reiki channel. It is a skill that is easily taught and easily learnt.

Reiki is traditionally taught in a series of workshops. The first level, called Reiki I, is a two day course where you will learn the basics and acquire the skills needed to give Reiki to yourself, friends and family.

The next level, Reiki II, is an advanced level and reveals to you the full powers of Reiki. You are then able to send Reiki at a distance, clear rooms and houses of bad energy and give more powerful Reiki energy when working ‘hands-on’. This is usually a 1½ to 2 day course.

After this come the levels of Reiki Master and Teacher. These are a little more complex and takes longer than the other levels. At the completion of this you are then able to teach others and give to them the ability to use Reiki for themselves.
