There has been much published on the internet about Preston, so it is not my intention to go into a lot of detail here. Preston is a major Commercial Centre, with many attractions and a busy shopping area. It is about 4-5 miles from home and is one of the major shopping areas around. It has a long history and some significant historical buildings.
Above are pictures of a sculpture outside the old Corn Exchange Building (now a trendy pub) depicting a confrontation between the military and workers during the general strike of 1842.
