Fourteen boats, eight visitors and six locals, lined up for the start of the 2009 ACT 10 Rater Championships on Lake Burley Griffin. On both days the breeze was light and variable, at times a little frustrating but nevertheless resulting in fairly close racing. The fleet consisted of several boats of recent design, with the majority of relatively narrow beam. After 28 races over the two days, the top three placegetters were separated by only a few points, after consistent sailing in at times difficult conditions. The visitors took out five of the top six places in a successful event.
