Built in 1923, the main house was later occupied as a convent by the Sisters Elizabeth of Hungary, a remarkable order of Anglican nuns who were invited to work among the women of the group settlements. Nicknamed the Little Grey Sparrows, they were a familiar sight on the verandahs from 1928 to 1946. In the 1960's, a purpose-built guest accommodation wing was added and has now been extensively modernised.
