OUR NOVEMBER SOCIAL RUN IS A VISIT TO THE CRISP GALLERIES
Sunday, 11 November

The Crisp Galleries just outside Yass is a family owned business
in three parts. The first is the The Glass Studio. Peter Crisp
is internationally regarded as on of the world's finest
glass-artisans. His work has been shown in galleries and museums
in the USA, Great Britain, and Germany. He uses a kiln to slump
glass into different shapes and forms. He takes ordinary glass
to the extreme limits of its character, and is endlessly
experimenting with new techniques. You will see an interesting
array of his gold & glass tableware on display. The second part
is The Lavender Gallery and Gallery Antiques that have lavender
products, giftware and a selection of gourmet foodstuffs for
sale. A range of antique furniture is also for sale. And finally
there is the beautiful surrounds of the unique gardens complete
with formal lavender beds, willow-tree avenue, waterfall, water
tower, mosaic walls and a picnic/BBQ area.
We
will depart Gold Creek (the car park outside Café Injoy) at
1.00pm for the one-hour drive to the Galleries. This means that
you have the option of a delightful light lunch at Café Injoy
before we leave or stll have an early Sunday roast at home. On
arrival at the Galleries, Peter Crisp will give us an
introductory talk and we will then be free to inspect before a
yummy afternoon tea is served.
The cost of entry, our guided tour, and afternoon tea is $13 per
head. Please book on the function sheet at a monthly meeting or
contact the Social Secretary direct.
