Training

Each Wednesday, training is provided in the various sections of the unit in line with a training schedule. Training is design to provide members with the necessary skills, techniques and abilities to able to respond when required. Members learn the need to maintain safety and teamwork.

Training instructors include that provided by specialist professionals ie St Johns - First Aid, Police, and Fire Brigade. The Regional Office and other units also run training sessions (usually on a weekend). These are normally in specific functions eg search team member/leader.

To compliment the training regular exercises are run to practice the units covered. Weekend training exercises are also planned.
