Anybony is the simple answer. A volunteer is a dedicated and community spirited person who wants to put something back into the local community. They could be a neighbour, or the person down the street, they come from all walks of life, varying ages and cultural origins.
Men and women work side by side in times of need, making themselves available for call out, at any time day or night. This time is all volunteered, being undertaken without any financial rewards.
There is about 2,500 SES volunteers, across WA. Metropolitan and Regional permanent officers support these volunteers.
