Abstract:This essay focuses

Abstract:This essay examines
the London Underground map - perhaps the best known example of information
design in practice. The map - designed in 1931 - has stood the test
of time and has been copied by nearly every underground transport
system in the world. It is relevant here because it represents a
clarity and simplicity which provides a benchmark for communicating
information through graphic design
