The Brittany has been bred to hunt, point and retrieve small game and birds. The breed is popular in the United States of America, however it remains a rare breed in Australia. It is a medium sized dog, graceful, active and rugged, well muscled and has long legged, elegant lines. A good Brittany looks square from shoulder to rump and from the ground to shoulder. It has a medium length coat with some feathering on the legs and underbody. The tail is no longer docked.

Temperament
The Brittany is keen to please and therefore easy to train and handle. They fit in well as a member of the family and love to be part of family activities.

Grooming
The coat is easy to keep in good condition with regular brushing. Bathe when necessary.

Exercise
The Brittany adapts well to urban living but needs regular exercise to stay in top condition. The best exercise involves walking, running, retrieving or formal exercise such as agility and obedience exercises. Exercise will keep your Brittany happy and healthy.

Feeding
There are no special feeding requirements.

Health Problems
The Brittany is generally a healthy breed. There can be hip and elbow dysplasia, but at Magicbrit Brittany Kennels we try to minimise these problems with careful breeding.
