.... Council of Eleven (Raad van Elf):
The Council of Eleven (Raad van Elf) are responsible for the promotion of every aspect of carnaval activities with particular attention being paid to the welfare of our members. Secondly with aspect of keeping our followers/supporters happy with our presentations at every event. In the latter years it has been noticed that our supporters/followers have quietly aged and do not wish to physically dance as much as they use to, thus we the Sandgropers decided to perform a floorshow at every function to entertain and set the mood for carnaval functions. These have been very successful and it would appear to be readily accepted and encouraged by our supporters/followers. We the Sandgropers have kept these floorshows in house and performances of the so called "Gigs" are done by our own members. Our supporters make very positive statements as a result of the "Gigs", such as, "we love to come and see what you have been up to" and they enjoy the laughs that are presented, with the added comments such as "keep up the good work".
This is extremely encouraging for our "members" and has given rise to many new suggestions and encouraged involvement at all levels. Especially by some who in the past have been a little shy to act the goat in these "Gigs".

.... Carnaval Entry Song:
The Council of Eleven, from the beginning has used the song and tune of the "Limburg's volks Lied" (Limburg's Anthem) as their entry music. The words have been altered in places to make it applicable for the Sandgropers.

.... Special songs written by the "Four Mouseketeers":
(These four members of the Sandgropers are: Gerry, Henny, Bert and Harry)
The Sandgropers take great pride in adapting words to songs which we present to the various clubs when visiting them during our travels around Australia. The Carnaval club is also blessed by having two great vocalists amongst us namely Groot Vorst Bert and Ex Prins Theo 3rd.
To view a few of these songs, please click on the song title to see the words. It is hoped that in the future we can add the music using Midi files.
