What is HOG ... ?
As the name states it's for Harley owners, supported by the Harley Davidson Motor company, local distributors and dealers; Its a genuine family group designed to cater for families. It is not an Outlaw Motorcycle Club and it's not for everyone but that's OK, it's one of the things that make HOG special, it's for the guy or girl who loves to ride their Harley and share their experience with friends and family. Its about having fun and truly enjoying yourself with people from all walks of life and social background, bound by the experience of adventure that only a Harley-Davidson can provide. The members range in age from
19 to 90 and throughout the world it is the largest motorcycle club of its kind. It costs
AU$62 Currency Converter
for HOG International and $50 for your local
chapter. Joining the Perth Chapter you will receive a newsletter every two months as well as having the backup vehicle present on most rides outside the metro area. In the unlikely situation you should break down, your bike will be transported to a suitable destination free of charge (or back home). Not to mention yourself and any baggage etc. You become eligible for the Fly and Ride program, that's the comparatively inexpensive hire of Harley-Davidson motorcycles at selected locations around the world, insurance is included and special souvenirs accompany the motorcycle. There is even a HOG Travel Center to assist with travel arrangements and flight bookings within the USA. You also have the opportunity to participate in reward programs such as The ABC's of Touring, Ladies of Harley, Motorcycling Memories, Mileage Merit and Safe Rider Skills as well as the right to attend HOG Rallies around the world. Each month our chapter holds a major day run, a social night and a chapter meeting. There are usually overnight runs and a State Rally in every state of Australia annually, the National HOG Rally moves from state to state each year and you have the right to attend all these events and if you think your money stops there you're wrong. Part of the money you pay for HOG International is also channeled back to your country and local chapters by way of subsidies. That's right, cash subsidies for local chapters, State and National Rallies, even gifts that are used as prizes at these rallies not to mention such things as bunting, banners and rally badges. Believe me the benefits don't
stop there but, and this is where it gets really ironic, being a member of HOG. is just
like owning a Harley. The more you use it the greater the personal return. These rallies I
mentioned are only good value if you go, just like the local chapter events. What do I get for my money ... ?For the answer to that click here!
