Ever the intrepid globetrotters a group of riders from Ideal Cycles  travelled to Taiwan at the invitation of  some major cycle manufacturers to compete in The Taipei Invitational Cycle Competition & visit various factories throughout the island of Taiwan. Over these pages we have highlighted some of the events surrounding our trip in which we encountered overwhelming generosity & struck up some life-long friendships.
        As you will probably know Taiwan is the world's centre of cycle & cycle-related components from mid- to high-level, poducts originating in Taiwan include Giant, Wellgo, Sunrace, etc. & other products which are produced under license including Peugeot, Profile, GT & many thousands of others.
       The first aspects which hit you when you arrive in Taipei is the humidity & streets teeming with scooters our base was Taipei but except for the Sunrace, Lifu & Fairly factories (some of our sponsors) most cycle related factories are on the west coast around the Taichung area : 2 hours south of Taipei. I won't bore you too much with the details but we'll now move onto a few pics.
