to perpetuate the close bonds of comradeship and esprit de corps created by past and present members of the Australian Special Air Service and other Special Air Service units by providing the means for contact, to provide support to the Regiment, to preserve the good name of the Regiment and guard its interests and to provide advice and assistance to past and present members of the SAS and / or their families in need.
These are the objectives of the Australian SAS Association, which was formed in 1986 when representatives of the various state Associations gathered at Campbell Barracks and drafted a constitution for a national body.
The state branches retained their autonomy but operate within the guidelines and rules contained in the National Constitution.

The Western Australian branch of the Association has obtained, extensively renovated and refurbished a building within Campbell Barracks to be the home of both the WA Branch and the national body. It is known colloquially as The House.
